Monday 31st December 2018: 10.31pm. Location: California Academy of Sciences.

Woke at 6am to get into the California Academy of Sciences as soon as it opened in order to snag the first come first served tickets for the planetarium. Here also has a large aquarium, a rainforest (pictured), an icerink and a penguin colony. We've been here five hours now and probably have seen only about half of it, but we are very tired and will shortly leave. That's the problem with such an early rise, you are left feeling awful rest of the day.
