Monday 9th July 2012: 10.31am. Two weeks after showing my pre-emigration todo list on nedprod and I have achieved exactly the following:
1. Substantially improve fitness before emigration [it's quite astonishing how much stronger and healthier I feel, though probably helped by lack of beer, anything fatty and the iron supplements I've added to my diet after the My Fitness Pal app on my phone showed I was generally getting about 8% of the iron I was supposed to. Currently feeling great on just 1200 calories a day].
8. Write up reference implementations of stuff being submitted to POSIX and ISO and submit them [written, not submitted].
11. Finish reading The C++ Standard Library: A Tutorial and Reference (2nd Edition) [reached section 5.2. Out of about 18 sections, and a further 1000 pages to go :)]
Have to do this week, no choice:
5. Pay 2011 corporation tax for my company and catch up on its accounts.
And then:
9. Do annual summer release of my libraries to propagate past year's bug fixes and fix bitrot.
10. Finish BEXML and BEurtle.
So why two weeks to write a single, simple little C library? Metrics here suggest I actually spent just sixteen hours on it. Where the hell does the time go?
